Medibank no longer doing Garrison

Dear valued provider,
In line with our recent communications to you regarding updates to the Garrison Health Services (GHS) contract, Medibank Health Solutions (MHS) have been working with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) on the transition-out elements of the contract.
Part of our commitment to you has been establishing the guidelines for invoicing and open episodes of care, the following information relates to approved treatment of ADF personnel that may not be completed prior to 30 June 2019.
When clinically appropriate, ADF personnel should continue to have access to required appointments from the same provider. Therefore, there is no reason to change any existing appointments for ADF personnel or rush treatment prior to 1 July 2019.
MHS will continue to make appointments with providers for referrals received up to the close of business on Friday 28 June 2019, even if the initial appointment is on or after 1 July 2019. These appointments will be communicated to Bupa who will assume responsibility for managing all bookings and referrals from 1 July 2019.
MHS is responsible for payment of all fees for approved services to ADF personnel (with a date of service no older than 12 months) up to and including 30 June 2019. MHS fee schedules for services provided by allied health providers or medical specialists are valid until midnight on 30 June 2019. Further information regarding overnight hospital admissions spanning 30 June 2019 will be communicated shortly.
MHS encourages you to submit your invoices for approved services performed as soon as possible following the date of service to ensure prompt payment whilst MHS continues to maintain a dedicated ADF Invoicing Team. Providers can continue to send their invoices for approved services performed up to 30 June 2019 to MHS until the end of September 2019. Further information will be provided on where to direct invoices after this date.
Bupa will be responsible for payment of fees for approved services provided to ADF personnel from 1 July 2019. Likewise, Bupa’s contracted rates and terms and conditions will commence from 1 July 2019. Similar to existing processes under the ADF Health Services contract with MHS, all invoices for approved services provided to ADF personnel from 1 July 2019 will be paid. For more information regarding Bupa’s Provider Network, please contact Bupa for more information.
To recap: invoices for approved services performed up to 30 June 2019 should continue to be sent to MHS up until 30 September 2019
Thank you for your continued support through this transition period and for working with us to ensure that all ADF personnel continue to have the best healthcare experience possible.
We will continue to communicate with you as more information becomes available.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the GHS Provider Support Team on 1300 126 420 or email us at ghs.providerfeedback@medibank.com.au.
